From Hartlepool to Hollywood
I was born in Hartlepool, England, a small industrial town, the
heart and Mecca of Northern England (Billy Elliott Country).
My family took me to the local theatre when I was a young lad, and
that’s where I became hooked on becoming an actor. After a number
of school productions and local theatre, I decided I would like to
go to school and learn how to become a professional actor.
I attended 2 years of college studying Theatre Arts and English Literature,
learning the basics. Then it was off for 3 years to drama school in
London, “The Guildford School of Acting,” to hone and
polish my craft!
I was lucky to get my first professional job with an Equity card
at “York Theatre Royal,” and then went straight into the
London production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Starlight
Express” for two and a half years.
After 10 years of working as an actor in theatre in England and around
the world, my next step was to conquer America…Hollywood. I
arrived in Los Angeles with a suitcase and a bag, and found this city
to be my home.
My first TV job in Hollywood was on the hit TV show, “Murder
She Wrote,” with Angela Lansbury, playing the murderer. And
of course, she found me out.
Since then, I’ve been guest starring on different shows, and
playing in different movie roles, living out my dream. I still have
to pinch myself sometimes, and remember the little boy I was from
Hartlepool.
